Iran’s feature ‘Axing’ has received an award at the 16th edition of the Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival (GAIFF) in Armenia.
Directed by Behrouz Shoeibi, ‘Axing’ received the AAFCCJ award which is presented by the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Cinema Journalists.
The film narrates the story of an addicted woman who thinks that her girl is dead, but when finds out that she is alive and lives with her father (the addicted woman's ex-husband) decides to take her back. This puts her to face her ex-husband and his new wife.
‘Axing’ is starring Mahnaz Afshar, Sara Bahrami, Jamshid Hashempour, Hadi Hejazifar, Negar Abedi, and Amin Hayaee.
The movie grabbed 10 nominations at the 36th Fajr Film Festival in Iran and garnered two Crystal Simorgh awards at the event.
The Iranian film ‘Driving Lessons’ also won the Golden Apricot award for best film at the Regional Short Film Competition at GAIFF.
The 16th edition of the GAIFF took place in the city of Yerevan on July 7-14, 2019.
